"Desire of My Heart"

All I really want in life is to be happy
To run with destiny and flirt with possibility
I want to feel the breath of God at my back
And the sun of salvation on my face
To know without questioning that I am loved
To love without reserve those close to me
I want to be the best that I can be
And never lose the innocence Christ restored to me
To never face another storm without assurance
That what I see is not always what is real
And that what is real lives in my heart always
I want to live as though tomorrow will never come
Knowing that when it does it is really just today
For all my life I long for peace and serenity
To know above all else that I am not alone
To know that God has my back as well as my hand
That no matter what comes He will never forsake me
And that I am secure in His promises
All I really want in this life is to prepare for eternity
And to know that this short span was not wasted
I want to make a difference in another's life
As so many have made the difference in mine
And more than anything I want to know
Really honestly know beyond the shadow of a doubt
That my actions are merely reflections of God's will
To be perfect as He is perfect
There is no higher calling to which man may aspire
